A children book that I love is called Corduroy by Don Freeman.....This book is very special to me because my favorite uncle that I lost to cancer read me this book every night. For some strange reason both of my children loved this book from the first time we read it.
The quote below is special to me because I strongly believe that with proper guidance a children have the ability to work out their problems.
We do not think of a child as a person full of needs to whom we must continually give, give, give. Children are seen as competent individuals who have within themselves the ability to find out what they need to know. -Carlina Rinaldi

Yes Nashika, they are competent, but along with our help they can soar further!! We are placed here to help them. By the way, I love Corduroy too!!
ReplyDeleteI like that quote as well. Once children realize they have the ability to do all that there is, they will excel in life!!
ReplyDeleteI tried on Saturday to post to your blog, and I was having trouble. I really like your post and your picture. I can relate to your remembering a book that your uncle read to you and how you are passing that passion on to your children.
ReplyDeleteLove that quote!!! You know that rings true to me the longer that I teach my kids. At first, I used to give, give, give, you know. Now, I feel I am the wiser and I give more ownership to the kids and they actually learn more. What a lesson that was for me to give up so much control. I am still learning it every day!
